
As per the data released by the Union Health Ministry data, India reported 37,148 cases in the last 24 hours. The Coronavirus tally has now crossed the 11.5 mark. The number of fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours was 587. The death toll now stands at 28,084. On a positive side, the number of recoveries has been improving too. Currently, over 7.24 lakh patients have recovered from the Coronavirus infection.
The number of active cases stands at 4,02,529 while the recoveries are at 7,24,577. In the last 24 hours, 24,491 patients were recovered.
According to the ICMR, a total of 1,43,81,303 samples have been tested to date. On Monday, 3,33,395 samples were tested for the Coronavirus infection.
On Monday, AIIMS Delhi started recruiting volunteers for the human clinical trials of the vaccine candidate Covaxin. The Director Dr Randeep Guleria said that there is not much evidence of community transmission of the Coronavirus infection happening at the national level.
AIIMS Delhi is one of the 12 centres selected to conduct the human trials. The centres have been selected by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for phase I and II.
