While everyone has different post-meal rituals, some people love to take a soothing nap, while others would rather take a relaxing bath, or even go for a quick smoke, have you ever considered the potential health risks?  While everyone relaxes differently after a meal, did you know that there are several things you should never do immediately after a heavy lunch or dinner because they might negatively affect your metabolism and digestion?

Here are 5 things you shouldn’t do after a full meal

Sleeping immediately

It’s a major mistake to go to bed just after eating. As a result, the stomach becomes acidic and starts to hurt. Digestion slows significantly if you lie down immediately.

Drinking tea or coffee

After eating, consuming tea or coffee could worsen acid reflux. This increases the possibility of an upset stomach.

Smoking

If you like to smoke shortly after a meal on a daily basis, it will have a quiet impact on your health and metabolism. According to health experts, smoking after a meal is the same as smoking ten cigarettes.

Start working immediately

After eating, one should try to rest rather than start working right away. Relaxing does not need lying down; one might sit calmly.

Avoid bathing

Bathing immediately after a big meal should always be avoided as it slows down the process of digestion. This is because taking a bath affects the blood flow around the stomach, which gets disrupted during a shower and flows to other parts of the body, affecting digestion.
