Work from home is the new normal for our generation. But, with the convenience of working from home comes the health issues related to it.
Check out some of the significant health concerns of work from home-
Stress and anxiety
Office work with continuous disturbances can make work from home extremely stressful and irritating. Lacking the right working environment can severely affect your productivity and might add an extra hour or two to the usual time taken to complete a task. Facing difficulty in concentrating or sticking to a schedule can be frustrating, leading to stress and anxiety.
Loneliness
Unlike an office, in work from home, you are kind of isolated in one room or a corner of your house. Neither, you are in much contact with your colleagues nor you get to have those small talks that you usually have while working in an office. Also, as you take more hours to complete the same amount of work, you are cutting hours from your social life, which might make you feel lonely.
Body and bad posture
While working from “home”, we hardly care how we sit and even lie on the bed with our laptops (obviously to work). After all, it’s home and what’s the benefit of working from home if you can’t have a little extra comfort, right? Maybe not. It is crucial to maintain the correct posture, especially when you are working for long hours. Else, you can suffer from body pain and bad posture
Overeating and Obesity
Snacking is a simultaneous process while working from home. Whether you always want snacks and feel like rewarding yourself every time you breathe during work. Or, you are doing stress eating. You will gain weight in no-time without regular exercise.
Insomnia
The biggest issue with work from home is that you procrastinate more often and eff up your “perfect schedule”. You pile up work and later assign it to your future self who was planning to sleep like a baby. Then, you have cups of coffee to stay awake and meet deadlines. Eventually, effing up the sleep cycle even more than your “perfect schedule”.
