UGC NET has been rescheduled to September 24, next week. As per the information shared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) which conducts the exam, the National Eligibility Test (NET) has been postponed to 24th September 2020 onwards. The authorities have still not informed about the date for receiving the admit cards.

Earlier the UGC NET Exam was scheduled to be conducted from 16th to 25th September 2020. The official notification released by NTA has stated that “National Testing Agency will be conducting ICAR Examination AIEEA-UG/PG and AICE-JRF/SRF (Ph.D.) 2020-21 on 16, 17, 22 and 23 September 2020.

Two days before the exam, the authorities rescheduled stating the change as the ICAR exam is being held on the same day and many candidates are common in both exams.

The exam is supposed to be held in June, 2020 but could not be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown imposed by the government.

UGC NET held twice a year, in December and June, is held for selection of Assistant Professors and for awarding Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). NTA conducts NET on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
