The school heads have been directed by the Punjab School Education Department to open the bank accounts of the students so that difficulties in getting the scholarship would not be faced by them, according to a report released by Punjab News Express.
With regards to the above-mentioned, a letter to the district education officer along with the school heads was been issued by the school education secretary Mr. Krishan Kumar, as mentioned by a spokesperson of the school education department, the report further said.
Under various schemes, the scholarships are been given to the school children and these scholarships shall be directly going to their bank accounts, according to the spokesperson. For the mentioned reason, a bank account is a must for the students to receive the scholarships, and therefore instructions to open a bank account of the students with zero balance have been issued by the education secretary so that no student would face any problem.
