There has been a lot of debate on whether it is appropriate to conduct the JEE(main) examinations in the times of the COVID-19 pandemic. However despite all the opposition the central government along with the NTA has decided to go forward with the conduction of the examinations from September 1 to September 6.

Despite the opposition, the central government has come up with this decision stating that if not now, then the entire academic year of the students will get jeopardized.

Apart from the standard JEE rules, the NTA has issued a specific protocol to ensure atmost safety during the exam and are trying their best to keep the entire process almost touchless

Here is the list of some of the important measures that the NTA has issued to maintain social distancing during the exam-

Hand sanitizer will be provided during the entry into the examination hall

Candidates need to maintain proper distance (at least 6 feet) while standing in the queue outside the examination hall. Floor marks will be drawn outside the center.

Candidates will be offered a new mask before entry

There has to be a proper gap between two students even inside the examination hall.

The seating area along with all the monitors, keyboards, mouse, webcam, desk and chair will be thoroughly sanitized.

Higher Education Secretary Amit Khare has also written to several states seeking their co-operation and support. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has also issued an appeal asking all states to ensure that candidates don’t face any difficulty during the examination.
