The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has released this year’s schedule for the LIC Assistant Engineers and Assistant Administrative officers (specialists) main exam. As per the notice released on the company’s official website, the exam will be conducted on October 31.
The LIC AE, AAO main exam will comprise two portions for a total of 325 marks. The first portion will contain objective type questions in the multiple-choice question format for 300 marks and the second portion will include descriptive type subjective questions for the remaining 25 marks.
Both the tests will be conducted in a computerised online mode at the various examination centres across the country. The objective type test will have separately allotted timing for each particular section. Meanwhile, the candidates will be required to answer the descriptive type test by typing on the computer.
The Descriptive type test will be administered immediately after the completion of the objective test. The official notice also states that no request for change in the centre for the main exam by a candidate will be entertained.
Moreover, to make the candidate identification process more secure, the company will utilise IRIS CAPTURE instead of Biometric Thumb impression data capture for verifying the candidates’ identities.
The Corporation has decided to capture and verify IRIS and the photograph of the candidates at multiple stages of recruitment — at the commencement of the main examination and at the end of the exam before leaving the examination hall, at the time of document verification before the interview and at the time of reporting for the training after recruitment.
Candidates who clear all the recruitment exams, as well as the interview process, document verification and a possible medical test, will be hired for the job. This recruitment initiative will fill up 218 posts of Assistant Engineer (AE) – Civil/ Electrical /Structural /MEP & Assistant Architect (AA) and Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) in the organisation.
Recruited candidates will be provided with a salary of Rs. 57,000 per month along with reimbursements of allowance including insurance, medical claims, LTC and gratuity, among others.
