The Students of NEET 2020 are of view that the writing medical entrance exam after travelling to India is not only stressful but also impracticle, other than that several candidates in Gulf countries have said that citing the risk of contracting COVID-19 and the need to undergo a mandatory quarantine, among other issues.
Some of them have decided the skip the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) altogether this year.
“What choice do I have ? It is impracticle,” said Royston Mendonca, who is based in Dubai.
Several Indian student like her said the Supreme Court’s refusal to allow exam centres for the NEETin Gulf countries has left them in hassel. Many of these students have their JEE Main exam in the Gulf and the NEET in India.
Reaching in time in India and to completing the mandatory quarantine period before the exam, arranging a stay before taking flight back home, additional expenses, the risk of contracting COVID-19 and being quarantine again back home are several concerns on the mind of aspirants.
The National Test Agency (NTA) which conducts the medical and engineering entrance exams, has decided to hold NEETon September 13 and Joint Entrance Examination(JEE) Mains from September 1 to 6.
