The Governors’ Conference on the National Education Policy titled “Role of NEP-2020 in Transforming Higher Education” is being organised by the Ministry of Education on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind will address the inaugural session through videoconferencing.
The other attendees will be the Education ministers of all states and, vice-chancellors of state universities and senior officials. Various webinars, conclaves and virtual conferences are being held across the country on the NEP 2020, which is India’s first education policy since 1986.
“The new National Education Policy strives for making India into an equitable and vibrant knowledge society. It envisions an India-centred education system that contributes directly to transforming India into a global superpower,” the NEP reads.
”Conclave on Transformational Reforms in Higher Education under National Education Policy-2020′ was the previous event organised by the Education Ministry, which was also addressed by the PM.
