The Jharkhand Academic Council released the results of the Class 10 state board examinations today. Over 3.8 lakh students who had appeared for the matric exam of the state received their results at 1:40 PM today.
The examination was conducted in the month of February, before the lockdown due to the pandemic which started from the month of March. Last year, the results were declared on the 19th of March. However, due to the nationwide lockdown amidst the pandemic, the declaration of result was delayed till it was announced today.
The JAC declared the percentage/marks range prior to the declarations of results. The students scoring more than 75% would receive a distinction whereas the students scoring less than 33% would be deemed as failing the exam. Students scoring more than 60% would bag a first division. The ones with an aggregate between 45% to 60% would receive the second division. The third division would be for those securing an aggregate between 33% and 45%.
As reported by Times of India, at around 1:40 PM, the results were declared by the Jharkhand state education minister, Jagarnath Mahto.
Out of 3.8 lakh students appearing for the matric exam, 75.10% students passed the exam i.e. secured an aggregate more than 33%. As per News 18, the total count of students passing the exam is 2,88,928 which consists of 75.88% girls and 74.25% boys.
After the cancellation or postponement of various central and state board examinations, Jharkhand stands first in declaring the result of its board examination amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
