This year, almost 1 lakh students had appeared for the examination out of which 68,374 students have passed the examination including 38,301 boys and 30,073 girls). The total pass percentage is 70.21. A total of 25,339 students scored first division, 24,121 got second division, and 18,268.
The highest pass percentage is recorded by Nayagarh district with 86.51 % while Jharsuguda recorded the lowest at 40.71%. 100% results were recorded by 20 schools while none of the students passed in 15 schools.
72% of students had cleared the class 12 Science examination last year and the highest pass percentage was 86.56 % recorded by Bhaleshwar district.
This year the exams were held from March 23 to 28 with the results being declared without all the exams being conducted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For the marking of these papers, the government has announced a special assessment scheme. According to this, if a student has appeared in more than three papers, then the average mark will be calculated from the best three subjects. The average mark will then be given for the pending papers. Similarly, if a student has appeared in three examinations, then he/she will be marked on the basis of two best papers
