The CBSE board has put forward a new pattern in regard to the student’s assessment plan. It has divided the ongoing academic session 2021-22 into two terms namely Term 1 and Term 2. In accordance with the pattern, 50 percent of the syllabus will be assessed through Term I and the remaining will be evaluated in Term II.
For the internal assessment, three periodic tests coupled with student enrichment, portfolio, practical, speaking, and listening activities, projects will be conducted.
Key Points to be noted for Term I
– In the Term I (Nov-Dec 2021) that covers 50 per cent of the syllabus, students will be assessed through MCQ types question.
– The MCQs will be divided into two types namely, Case Based MCQs and Assertion Reasoning MCQs.
– The Time allotted for the examination of Term I is 90 minutes .
– CBSE board will send QPs with marking schemes.
– The examination will be conducted in the respective schools.
– The examination center will have external invigilators as appointed by the board.
– OMR sheets will be utilized.
– After the completion of the examination, OMR sheets have to be scanned to upload it in the CBSE portal on the same day.
– The Term I marks will be included in the final results.
Key Points to be noted for Term II
– The Term II (March – April 2022) wil cover the remaining syllabus will have questions of different formats.
– The question will be like case based ended, Short/Long answer questions, Situation based question.
– The time allotted for Term II is two hours.
– Exams will take place in an examination center set by the board.
– If COVID 19 adverse situation arises, Term II will also be evaluated on the grounds of 90 minutes MCQs.
– Term II marks will be added to the final results.
Calculation of Marks for the final report card
– In case the pandemic gets in control or there is no pandemic, marks will be evenly distributed for the two terms. Besides, students will be required to appear at the center for the examination.
– If the Term I is conducted from home and Term II from school, Term I weightage will be less in the final score. The term II marks will get more focus.
– If the Term I is carried out in school and Term II from home, weightage will be more for Term I and internal assessment as compared to Term II.
– If both the terms take place at home, every aspects of internal assessment and both the terms will be considered for fair judgement.
