Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said India is rapidly emerging as a global hub for semiconductors, green energy and sustainable manufacturing, asserting that investments in these sectors are creating massive employment opportunities for the country’s youth.
Addressing the 19th Rozgar Mela through video conferencing, the Prime Minister said every Indian is moving forward with the resolve to build a “developed India” by 2047, adding that large-scale investments across strategic sectors are opening new avenues for economic growth and job creation.
“Today, every Indian is moving forward with a great resolve. This resolve is to build a developed India by 2047,” Modi said while addressing newly recruited candidates who received appointment letters under the central government’s recruitment drive.
Highlighting India’s semiconductor ambitions, Modi said the country is now developing a complete semiconductor manufacturing supply chain and that Indian youth will play a central role in its success.
“As a result, a complete semiconductor manufacturing supply chain is being developed in India today. In the coming years, India’s 10 major semiconductor units will make their mark across the world,” the Prime Minister said.
He added that the intelligence, talent and commitment of Indian youth would become the driving force behind the sector’s future expansion and employment generation.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the rapid growth of sectors linked to clean energy, green hydrogen, critical minerals and sustainable manufacturing, saying these industries are becoming major pillars of India’s new economy.
According to Modi, India is strengthening international partnerships to accelerate green transition projects and modern industrial infrastructure. He specifically referred to cooperation with Sweden, Norway and Italy in sustainable technology and clean energy initiatives.
He further stated that partnerships with the United Arab Emirates and Norway would significantly strengthen India’s shipbuilding ecosystem and maritime industrial capabilities.
The remarks came during the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela, where more than 51,000 appointment letters were distributed to newly recruited candidates across 47 locations nationwide.
The government has positioned the Rozgar Mela initiative as part of its larger employment generation and youth empowerment programme aimed at filling vacancies across ministries and accelerating public sector recruitment.
