This day is celebrated to commemorate the formation of the Indian Air Force, which was officially established on 8 October 1932, marking a historic milestone in India’s military history. The theme of IAF day 2023 was ‘IAF – Airpower Beyond Boundaries’.
The theme highlights the commitment of the force to excellence, innovation and its role as the guardian of the nation’s skies. This year the 91st anniversary of Indian Air Force Day will be celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour at various air stations all over the country. It was celebrated with full pomp and show on the religious grounds of Prayagraj. The celebrations commenced with a parade and a flypast at the Bamrauli Air Force Station in Prayagraj at approximately 7:45 am. As the day progresses, a grand airshow is set to take place over Triveni Sangam, beginning at 2:30 pm.
The airshow will showcase an impressive array of fighter aircraft, including the Sukhoi 30, MiG 29, Rafale, Jaguar, and more. The Akashganga team will also dazzle the audience with their daring aerial maneuvers. Thousands of eager spectators are expected to gather at Sangam to witness this historic event.
