Pakistan violated ceasefire on Monday at about 2:30 pm by firing with small arms & intense shelling with mortars along Line of Control (LoC) in Shahpur, Kirni & Qasba sectors in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, according to an ANI report.
Tensions along the LoC in Poonch have been high since Saturday. The Indian army is taking control of the situation and retaliating. There have been several ceasefire violations by Pakistan this year. At least 24 civilians have been killed and over 100 injured in more than 2,730 LoC ceasefire violations by Pakistan so far in 2020. On September 5, an Indian Army soldier was martyred and two others sustained injuries after Pakistani troops violated ceasefire in Nowgam sector in Kupwara.
