The Indian Army on Thursday confirmed that Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple drone and munition attacks along the Western Border during the intervening night of May 8 and 9, 2025. The coordinated assault was accompanied by a spate of ceasefire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued by the official Twitter handle of the Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI), the Indian Army stated that the attacks were “effectively repulsed” and a “befitting reply was given” to the CFVs.
The operations came under the umbrella of Operation Sindoor, India’s ongoing counter-terror and border security mission. The army reaffirmed its commitment to defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, adding, “All nefarious designs will be responded with force.”
