Security has been tightened across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Mendhar region of Kashmir as the terrorist groups become active along the LoC on the launchpad, as per a news report by News18 Kashmir.

The measures come hours after National Investigation Agency raided various locations across the valley in terror funding-related cases. The raids were conducted in Baramulla, Pulwama and Shopian districts of the Kashmir valley.

During the raids, the NIA sleuths were accompanied by the Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF personnel.

According to officials, the raids are a part of the federal agency’s probe into a terror-related case.

A huge catchment of arms and ammunition was recovered from terrorists in the Macchal Sector of Kupwara on July 19. A successful joint counter-infiltration operation was conducted by the BSF, Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police. Four AK series rifles, nine AK magazines, 175 AK rounds, six hand grenades, one UBGL (Under Barrel Grenade Launcher), five UBGL grenades, and two tactical vests were recovered.

On July 17, a terrorist was gunned down by the BSF in an attempt to infiltrate among the Line of Control and a huge consignment of arms and ammunitions was seized.

There has been a strict measure taken by the Indian Army and J&K police along the Amarnath Yatra route. The 18th batch of pilgrims left for Kashmir from Jammu today which includes 6,523 people.
