Tomorrow 6th June 2020 at 8 am, the Lieutenant Generals of the Indian and Chinese army along with 10 Indian officials will meet to resolve the standoff at the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The meeting will take place at Chushul-Moldo border point on the Chinese side.
This decision comes after multiple rounds of military dialogues held so far at various levels, all of which have failed to get any breakthrough. India stands strong with the notion of no compromise to be made in regards to the sanctity of the country’s border. However, the country is famous for its peace-loving nature.
Over the past few weeks, the tensions on the border escalated. In May, China deployed 5,000 troops in Eastern Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control. In response, India also started matching it by rushing troops in the region. It is believed that Chinese troops would have indulged in further incursion if the Indian forces would have not responded timely.
