According to the most recent update, India and China are likely to set up a hotline between their Air Forces for the possible diffusion of any escalation between both countries along the Line of Actual Control(LAC). Both governments have also decided to open the hotline to further discuss various issues along the border.
“The issue of having a direct hotline between Chinese and Indian Air Forces have been in discussion during Chushul Mobo border meeting point held last week”, government sources had informed ANI. Further details about the structure and functionality of the hotline would be addressed during further meetings between both countries. According to the report, this step was taken by the government for solving issues involving fighter aircraft which can escalate very fast.
The events involving the Chinese Air Force activities in the Eastern Ladakh sector where the Chinese have been clearly violating the 10 Km Confidence Building Measure Line. But the Chinese were taken aback by the Indian’s response on the matter. During the talks, the Chinese had talked about Indians flying close to the border. The talks held last week marked the first time since April 2020 that both countries have shared a platform to discuss military matters along the border.
