
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, has received fresh orders worth Rs. 1,292 crore, including a significant Rs. 1,034 crore contract for supplying Software Defined Radios (SDR) and Data Communication Terminals (DCT) to the Indian Coast Guard. The contract was awarded by the Ministry of Defence and is expected to enhance the communication capabilities of the Coast Guard for critical maritime missions.
The SDR and DCT systems, jointly developed by BEL and Defence Electronics Applications Laboratory (DEAL) under DRDO, support multi-band, multi-channel, and multi-role operations, essential for network-centric warfare. The DCT system will facilitate seamless communication between ships and shore stations with high accuracy, speed, and security.
Additional orders and total contract value in FY25
In addition to the SDR and DCT contract, BEL has secured orders worth Rs. 258 crore for various defence-related equipment, including:
- Earth stations for satellite communication
- Laser range finders
- Fire control centers
- Command and control posts
- Communication equipment for weapon systems
- Head-up displays
- Spares and services
With these latest orders, BEL’s total accumulated order book for the current financial year stands at Rs. 13,147 crore, reinforcing its strong market presence in the defence and security sector.
