Aerpace Industries Limited (formerly Supremex Shine Steels Limited) has announced a significant milestone for its aerShield defence drones vertical, with its UAE subsidiary receiving a Letter of Intent (LoI) from a prominent defence company in the United Arab Emirates.

In an exchange filing dated August 20, the company stated that Aerpace General Trading LLC, UAE, was issued the LoI on August 19, following evaluation of its advanced defence drone portfolio. The UAE entity has expressed strong interest and will soon send officials to India for live demonstrations of the drones developed under the aerShield programme.

The company noted that procurement discussions will move forward subject to satisfactory demonstrations and validation of technical capabilities. However, the name of the UAE defence company has not been disclosed due to confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements in place.

Responding to shareholder concerns over execution visibility, Aerpace reassured that development is ongoing across multiple verticals, including solar energy (AerVolt), defence drones (aerShield), urban air mobility (aerWing, aerTaxi, aerCar), and advanced infrastructure. The management emphasized that these are deep-technology, multi-stage projects requiring extensive R&D, prototyping, and compliance before large-scale commercialization.

To reinforce transparency, the company has also shared a basic test video of one of its defence drone prototypes, available on its official website (aerpace.com/aershield_field_trial.html). Aerpace stated that upcoming demonstrations with Indian and UAE defence authorities will be critical milestones for validating the aerShield platform and converting it into commercial opportunities.

Neha Mankame, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, said the development marks a “promising stage of global engagement” for Aerpace in the defence technology space. The company reiterated its commitment to advancing cutting-edge technologies across renewable energy, defence, and air mobility to create long-term value for stakeholders.
