Gold, silver and copper prices recovered sharply after opening locked at nearly 9% lower circuit earlier in the session, as trading resumed on MCX following the initial halt. Silver was trading around Rs 2.71 lakh per kg, down 7.17%, while gold recovered to near Rs 1.40 lakh per 10 grams, down 6.45%. Copper also pared losses, trading around Rs 1,213 per kg, down about 6.2%, as panic selling eased and prices stabilized.
The recovery came after heavy profit-booking triggered sharp early declines, with improved liquidity and two-way trade emerging once lower circuits were lifted.
