Global Market Update

Gold prices climbed more than 1% on Wednesday (October 29) as investor focus shifted to US President Donald Trump’s Asia tour and his upcoming meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The renewed geopolitical attention pushed investors toward safe-haven assets after a volatile week for metals.

At 8:28 am CET, spot gold rose 1.17% to $3,998.37 per ounce, while silver jumped 2.02% to $48.01 per ounce. Palladium gained 0.64% to $1,396.17, whereas platinum slipped marginally by 0.07% to $1,597.70.

Market analysts noted that the anticipation around the Trump–Xi meeting at the APEC Summit in South Korea has helped restore some short-term momentum to bullion, especially after recent weakness linked to easing trade tensions.
