Gold prices in Vijayawada edged lower on Thursday, January 22, tracking the broader correction in domestic bullion prices after gold retreated from its recent all-time highs.
As per the latest market rates, 24-carat gold in Vijayawada is priced at around Rs 15,420 per gram, while 22-carat gold is trading near Rs 14,135 per gram. Meanwhile, 18-carat gold is available at approximately Rs 11,565 per gram.
The easing in prices comes after sharp gains earlier this week, when gold rallied strongly amid escalating geopolitical tensions involving the US, Europe and Greenland, alongside global risk-off sentiment. However, profit booking at elevated levels, a rebound in the US dollar, and some cooling in international gold prices have led to a pullback in domestic markets.
Despite the correction, gold continues to remain near historic highs, supported by persistent global uncertainty, central bank buying and sustained safe-haven demand.
