
Amid the ongoing crisis at New India Co-operative Bank, authorities have clarified that bank lockers remain accessible to customers, despite the RBI’s stringent restrictions on the bank’s operations. Locker holders will retain full rights to access their belongings, ensuring that valuables stored within are not impacted by the current financial turmoil.

The bank has also assured depositors that balances and fixed deposits up to ₹5 lakh will be compensated under deposit insurance, offering some relief to affected customers. Additionally, the bank has pledged to take action against defaulters and fraudulent entities that contributed to the crisis.
While withdrawals from savings and current accounts remain prohibited, the assurance regarding lockers is expected to ease concerns among account holders worried about losing access to their valuables.
