Bank of America customers across the country reported significant issues accessing their online accounts on Wednesday afternoon. According to DownDetector, which tracks outages and online service disruptions, reports of the problem spiked around 12:45 pm ET, with over 5,000 customers encountering difficulties by 3 pm.

Many Bank of America users expressed frustration on social media, claiming they were unable to log into their accounts. Some who managed to access their accounts were alarmed to see their balances displayed as zero. “Five accounts show zero balance, over 20K,” one concerned customer wrote on DownDetector.

Multiple employees at CNN also confirmed they were unable to log in to their Bank of America accounts, further adding to the rising concerns.

For those able to log in, like one user on the company’s X help account, the sight of a zero balance caused significant stress. “There’s some kind of glitch on the Bank of America website that shows $0 in all accounts, and honestly, I think they owe everybody some cash for pain and suffering because that was extremely stressful,” another customer commented.

While some users reported that their debts were still visible, the temporary outage left many in confusion and anxiety. Bank of America has yet to issue an official statement regarding the cause of the disruption or the timeline for resolving the issue.

This developing situation has left many Bank of America customers eagerly awaiting answers and a swift resolution to the alarming glitch.
