Karnataka Bank has welcomed back one of its own, as Raghavendra S Bhat officially took charge as the Managing Director and CEO on July 16, 2025. The announcement was made at the Bank’s Registered and Head Office in Mangaluru.

Bhat’s journey with Karnataka Bank began in 1981, when he joined as a clerk. Over the next 38 years, he held various key roles, eventually retiring in 2019 as Chief General Manager and Chief Operating Officer. Now, six years later, he returns to lead the very institution where his banking journey started.

Expressing his gratitude, Bhat said he was proud and happy to rejoin the Bank that holds a special place in his career. He also highlighted Karnataka Bank’s 101-year-old legacy, its strong presence across India, and its reputation for consistently declaring net profits and dividends—a rare feat in the banking sector.

Often referred to as K.S.N. Adiga’s Bank, Karnataka Bank has long been known for its focus on agriculture, MSMEs, and underserved sectors. Bhat emphasized the importance of continuing this mission and called on employees and customers to support the Bank’s growth and transformation in the years ahead.

He also thanked the Board of Directors and the RBI for their trust and confidence in him and appreciated the media for its constructive role in the Bank’s journey so far.
