UPS Airlines confirmed that three crew members were on board the cargo aircraft that crashed shortly after takeoff from the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport in Kentucky. The incident took place at approximately 5:20 PM ET on Tuesday.
The aircraft, identified as a McDonnell Douglas MD-11, was bound for Honolulu when it went down moments after departure. UPS said it is still working to verify the status of the crew and has not yet confirmed any injuries or fatalities.

Emergency responders are on site and investigators are assessing the crash area. Initial visuals from the scene, circulating online, show smoke rising from the crash location as fire and rescue teams work at the site. Authorities are yet to release official information on the cause of the crash.
UPS stated it is cooperating with authorities and will share further updates as more details are confirmed.
