In a key development for India’s aviation sector, the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has approved the passenger levy structure for the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport. As per the approved charges, passengers flying out of the airport will pay a user development fee (UDF), which will be added to their ticket prices.
Domestic outbound passengers will be required to pay ₹840, while international outbound travelers will pay ₹1,500. For those arriving at Navi Mumbai, the fee will be ₹360 for domestic passengers and ₹750 for international ones.
These charges are part of the airport’s user development fee structure and will apply once operations begin.
With passenger traffic in Mumbai continuing to grow, the Navi Mumbai airport is set to play a crucial role in easing congestion, and these new charges are part of laying the groundwork for sustainable operations.
