An IndiGo flight travelling from Mumbai to Dehradun on Sunday experienced a bird hit just minutes before landing at Jolly Grant Airport. The impact damaged the front portion of the aircraft, though the plane landed safely with all 186 passengers on board. No injuries were reported among passengers or crew.
Following the landing, engineering teams conducted an immediate inspection and confirmed structural damage caused by the bird strike. The aircraft has been moved for further checks and necessary repairs.
In an official statement, an IndiGo spokesperson said, “Caused due to bird hit, a maintenance requirement was noticed on IndiGo flight 6E 5032, operating from Mumbai to Dehradun on 23 November 2025. The aircraft was subsequently grounded and an alternative flight was arranged to operate the sector. Refreshment boxes and dinner were provided to all the passengers.”
The airline arranged a replacement aircraft for the affected passengers and assured that all operational and safety protocols were followed.
