Passengers on IndiGo flight 6E 6219 from Indore to Goa on Monday (September 15) faced unexpected delays, sparking frustration onboard. The aircraft, which was scheduled to depart Indore at 12:30 pm, took off at 12:15 pm but landed in Goa only at 2:33 pm, more than an hour later than its scheduled arrival of 2:05 pm.

According to flight tracker updates, the aircraft remained in the air longer than usual, with no further official confirmation from IndiGo on the cause of the delay. Several passengers expressed disturbance over the prolonged travel time and the lack of timely communication from the airline.

Possible reason: weather disruption

The disruption comes amid a red alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad, on Monday morning. Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms have been reported across the region, affecting flight operations and leading to cascading delays at multiple airports.

Local trains in Mumbai’s Central and Harbour lines also reported delays of 5–10 minutes due to intense downpours. IMD data showed Colaba recorded 88.2 mm rainfall between September 14 (8:30 am) and September 15 (5:30 am), while Bandra logged 82 mm and Byculla 73 mm during the same period.

Authorities have advised residents in affected regions to remain alert and exercise caution as heavy rainfall is expected to continue.
