The Goa airport director stated on Tuesday that the right engine of the Mumbai-bound IndiGo aircraft developed a snag while approaching the runway. A Navy team was called in to assist in the rescue of the passengers after a snag developed in the aircraft’s right engine.

“The right engine of a Mumbai-bound IndiGo aircraft develops a snag at Goa Airport while proceeding to the runway; passengers disembark with the assistance of a Navy rescue team,” said SVT Dhananjaya Rao, the Goa airport director. The Navy teams escorted the aircraft to the taxi bay.

According to reports, the IndiGo Airbus (VT-IZR) flying the 6E6097 flight from Goa to Mumbai returned after the taxy out.
The pilot of the IndiGo flight received a brief engine warning while taxiing. Following that, the pilot followed their procedures and returned the aircraft for inspection.

The passengers will be accommodated on another flight to Mumbai. According to sources, the aircraft had to be pushed back from Bay number nine, but the movement of other aircraft was unaffected by the incident.
