New Delhi, Friday, November 7: Flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi are experiencing delays following a technical issue in the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS), which supports Air Traffic Control (ATC) data.
According to officials, controllers are currently processing flight plans manually, resulting in slower operations and subsequent delays across several flights. Technical teams are working on an urgent basis to restore the AMSS system and resume normal operations.
In an advisory earlier, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) stated that flight operations were affected due to a technical issue with the ATC system, and that teams were coordinating closely with all stakeholders to resolve the issue at the earliest.
“Passengers are advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines for the latest flight updates. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused,” DIAL mentioned in its earlier statement.
The glitch has led to temporary disruption in air traffic management and scheduling. The airport authority has expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of passengers and stakeholders as efforts continue to stabilize the system.
