The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and a Swedish company named LVF Air Navigation services have joined hands to create and operationalize the next generation of sustainable aviation technology.
This deal was signed in New Delhi by M. Suresh, member (Air Navigation Services), AAI, and Magnus Corell, deputy director general, LFV Sweden. The event was attended by senior officials from both countries.
This deal will allow and pave the way for bilateral exchange between India and the Scandinavian nation to exchange aviation expertise and technology.
The agreement recognises the urgent need for quick progress in the construction of next-generation smart airports and the requirement to create sustainable transportation systems. The agreement includes the promotion of close and cordial ties between the two agencies, the expansion of technical cooperation in airports, support for the development of a safe, secure, sustainable, and efficient aviation sector, and beneficial contributions to promoting bilateral and international trade, according to the statement. It also covers the exchange of aviation knowledge and technology transfer programmes.
Sanjeev Kumar, the chairman, of the Airports Authority of India, expressed confidence that the mutual exchange in civil aviation between AAI and LFV Sweden will go a long way in building and operationalization the next generation of smart and sustainable aviation technology, the statement said.
The Swedish Ambassador to India, Klas Molin said “We are looking forward to this addition to the already expansive India-Sweden collaboration, which already includes sustainability, health, innovation, energy, and will now extend to civil aviation. I’m looking forward to seeing how the MoU can foster more opportunities for Sweden and India to explore climate-smart solutions within the aviation sector.”
