Budget airline AirAsia on Thursday announced a “flash sale”, offering domestic flight tickets from Rs. 914. The new offer which began on August 4 will be open till August 6.
Special sale fares are open for booking from 4th August till 6th August for travel from 1st September 2021 till 26th March 2022,” the airline said on the website.
The flash sale offer will be applicable on Imphal-Kolkata and Imphal-Guwahati routes, it said on the website. The number of seats that can be booked under the offer was not disclosed by the airline.
According to DNA India, the sale was announced after an ‘AirAsia India Travel Intent’ Survey was conducted which saw an overwhelming preference for flying being the favoured mode of outstation travel, by over 90 per cent of those planning outstation travel.
The survey found that nearly 70 per cent of respondents had travel plans for the next 3 months, the travel purpose being holiday or leisure travel in the festive season.
“The primary concerns or drivers of confidence for the resurgence in travel remain evenly distributed among three extrinsic factors – a drop in the number of Covid cases, easing of government restrictions, and being vaccinated,” the airline said in a statement.
Other routes covered under the flash sale include Bengaluru-Hyderabad (starting fare ₹ 1,414), Bengaluru-Goa (starting fare ₹ 1,614), Goa-Hyderabad( ₹1,614), Cochin-Bengaluru(Rs(1,714), Bhubaneswar-Kolkata( ₹1,714), Pune-Bengaluru( ₹1,814), Bengaluru-Visakhapatnam( ₹1,914).
AirAsia India is a joint venture between Tata Sons and Malaysia’s AirAsia Berhad. Currently, the airline flies to 17 destinations and 30 30 Airbus A320 aircraft.
