Yamaha India has unveiled its dual-sport motorcycle, the Lander XTZ 250, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. While the motorcycle is already available in international markets, Yamaha India has yet to confirm its launch in the country. Notably, the displayed model is an older iteration, while the global markets are already receiving the 2025 update. The Lander 250 has been in the spotlight since it was spotted undergoing testing nearly a decade ago.
Design and Features
The Yamaha Lander XTZ 250 features a rugged design aimed at adventure and off-road enthusiasts, much like the recently launched Kawasaki KLX 230. It boasts a modern yet practical look with an LED headlight integrated into the front cowl and a tall, beak-style mudguard. Its 13.5-litre fuel tank ensures long-distance travel, and the elevated single-piece seat provides added comfort for the pillion. The upswept exhaust is designed for improved off-road clearance.
Power and Performance
Powering the Lander XTZ 250 is a 249cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, producing 20 bhp and 20 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox, offering a balanced performance for both on-road and off-road riding. Weighing 160kg (with a full tank), the motorcycle has an impressive ground clearance of over 230mm and an 875mm seat height, making it suitable for various terrains.
Suspension and Wheels
The Lander XTZ 250 is equipped with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels, complemented by disc brakes on both ends. It features telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock for superior suspension. The addition of an LCD display with smartphone connectivity rounds off its tech features, making it an ideal dual-sport motorcycle for adventurous riders.
