Soon after its launch, Xiaomi’s SU7 electric vehicle drew the interest of the whole automotive world. The pure electric stylish sedan claims to have received over one lakh bookings within 6 days of its introduction, with the waiting period for the EV increasing to seven months. According to Reuters, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has stated that the Chinese tech giant turned automaker would release more information about the SU7’s manufacturing capacity and delivery strategy at the Beijing Auto Show.

Additionally, according to Jun, Xiaomi has allegedly begun delivering the standard and MAX models of the SU7 EV 12 days ahead of schedule.

According to the report, Xiaomi’s CEO stated that sales of the company’s first electric vehicle surpassed expectations by three to five times. Xiaomi has begun deliveries of the first batch of 5,000 SU7 units, known as the Founder’s Edition, which includes additional accessories. Deliveries for the Xiaomi SU7 Pro model are slated to begin by the end of May 2024.

Late last month, Xiaomi unveiled the SU7 electric vehicle. The Xiaomi SU7 is inspired by Porsche’s design and is priced at around $30,000, which is $4,000 less than the Tesla Model 3 basic model in China. According to reports, Jun stated that Xiaomi will primarily focus on the SU7 and had no intention to build SUVs or off-road cars.
