Volvo Cars is all set to unveil its latest electric sedan, the ES90, on March 5. As an electrified version of the S90, the ES90 will join Volvo’s growing lineup of EVs, including the EX90, EX40, and C40 Recharge.

Volvo ES90 Electric Sedan Features

One of the ES90’s standout features is its 800V architecture, a first for Volvo. This advanced system enables faster charging, enhanced efficiency, and improved performance. According to Volvo, a 350 kW fast charger can provide 300 km of range in just 10 minutes, while a 10% to 80% charge takes only 20 minutes. The ES90 is expected to offer an impressive 700 km range on a single charge (WLTP cycle).

The ES90 is powered by lighter electric motors and energy-efficient components, helping it deliver a powerful and efficient driving experience. According to Anders Bell, Chief Engineering Technology Officer at Volvo, the 800V system optimizes charging speed and extends driving range.

Additionally, the ES90 will feature advanced core computing with a dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin setup, capable of handling 508 trillion operations per second (TOPS). This AI-driven technology will optimize battery performance, sensor management, and safety functions.

The ES90 continues Volvo’s legacy of safety with its Safe Space Technology, incorporating lidar, radars, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors. These systems enhance collision avoidance and night-time detection, making the ES90 one of the safest EVs on the road.
