Navroze Contractor, a distinguished photographer, cinematographer, and writer, met with a fatal accident on Sunday morning that claimed his life. Despite his love for bikes and his extensive contributions to bike and car magazines, he ironically fell victim to a bike collision.

As was his routine, Mr. Contractor set out on a leisurely bike ride on a Sunday morning when he was involved in a collision with another bike on Hosur Road. He was immediately rushed to Denkanikottai Hospital in Tamil Nadu, but unfortunately, he couldn’t survive the injuries sustained in the accident.

Originally from Ahmedabad, Mr. Contractor had made Bengaluru his home, residing there with his family. He was married to renowned documentary filmmaker Deepa Dhanraj. Navroze Contractor had made a significant impact on the documentary film industry in India and globally. His impressive body of work included notable documentaries such as “Ballad of Pabu” by George Luneau, “Dreams of the Dragon’s Children” by Pierre Hoffmann, “Are you listening?” by Martha Stewart, and “Last House in Bombay” by Luke Jennings.

The unfortunate accident occurred while Mr. Contractor was riding his Kawasaki Z650 back home in Bengaluru after his Sunday ride. According to reports, he was allegedly hit by another motorcycle that was traveling in the wrong direction. He was immediately taken to a hospital in Denkanikottai, Tamil Nadu, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Navroze Contractor held a special place in the hearts of the motorcycling community, who admired and cherished his experiences.
