Hero MotoCorp recently introduced the Karizma XMR to the Indian market. Now, though, it appears like the company is already working on an upgrade for it. Hero MotoCorp has submitted a new design patent that shows the Karizma XMR with minimal modifications. It’s important to keep in mind that getting a design patent does not guarantee that the company will release the product.
It is evident from the patent image that the Karizma XMR now has upside-down forks. In contrast, the current motorcycle comes with a set of telescopic forks. The modified fairing now reaches all the way to the bottom and merges in with the new fuel tank. Winglets appear to be included in the new fairing as well.
That being said, Hero MotoCorp showcased the XTunt 2.5R concept, which featured a 250 cc liquid-cooled motor, at EICMA last year. Hero may be considering installing the same unit in a fully operational Karizma and displaying it at EICMA. It is also possible that Hero may upgrade the Karizma XMR with the bigger 250 cc engine.
The Hero’s 250 cc engine’s power and torque outputs are still unknown. However, the current 210 cc engine produces 20.4 Nm at 7,250 rpm and about 24 horsepower at 9,250 rpm.
