TVS Motor Company has reported an impressive growth trajectory with monthly sales reaching 321,687 units in December 2024, marking a 7% increase compared to 301,898 units sold in December 2023.
Two-Wheeler Segment
The two-wheeler segment was a key contributor to TVS Motor’s success, achieving an 8% growth. Sales rose from 290,064 units in December 2023 to 312,002 units in December 2024. The domestic market contributed 215,075 units in December 2024, consistent with the 214,988 units sold in the same month the previous year.
- Motorcycles: Motorcycle sales recorded 144,811 units in December 2024, slightly down from 148,049 units in December 2023.
- Scooters: Scooters experienced significant growth, with sales surging by 30% from 103,167 units in December 2023 to 133,919 units in December 2024.
Electric Vehicles
TVS Motor’s electric vehicle (EV) segment demonstrated outstanding growth. The company sold 20,171 EV units in December 2024, a remarkable 79% increase compared to 11,288 units in December 2023.
International Business
The international business division also performed exceptionally well. Total exports increased by 22%, rising from 85,391 units in December 2023 to 104,393 units in December 2024. Two-wheeler exports were particularly strong, growing by 29% with 96,927 units exported in December 2024 compared to 75,076 units in December 2023.
Three-Wheeler Segment
Sales in the three-wheeler segment were 9,685 units in December 2024, a decrease from 11,834 units in December 2023. Despite this decline, the segment remains an integral part of TVS Motor’s diverse portfolio.
Third Quarter FY 24-25 Performance
During the third quarter of FY 24-25, TVS Motor recorded significant milestones:
- Two-Wheelers: Sales grew by 11% to 11.8 lakh units, up from 10.6 lakh units in Q3 FY 23-24.
- Three-Wheelers: Sales were 0.29 lakh units in Q3 FY 24-25 compared to 0.38 lakh units in the same period last year.
- EV Sales: The company sold 0.76 lakh EV units in Q3 FY 24-25, a 57% increase from 0.48 lakh units in Q3 FY 23-24.
