Toyota Motor Corporation has finally unveiled the highly anticipated fourth-generation 2024 Toyota Vellfire luxury MPV on a global scale. Alongside its counterpart, the Alphard, the Vellfire is set to hit markets worldwide in the coming months. While the current Vellfire is already available in India, the fourth-generation model is expected to make its debut in the Indian market in 2024. After a recent leak, Toyota has now released the official photos and specifications of the new Vellfire, generating excitement among enthusiasts and potential buyers.

An interesting connection to note is the resemblance between the new Toyota Vellfire and the second-generation Lexus LM350h MPV, which recently made its entry. Both models belong to the same family, showcasing Toyota’s commitment to delivering top-tier vehicles. The upcoming fourth-generation Toyota Vellfire will be equipped with a 2.5-liter petrol hybrid drivetrain and a 2.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine. However, specific performance figures for these engines have not yet been disclosed, leaving fans eagerly anticipating further details.

Significant changes lie under the hood of the 2024 Vellfire, with the introduction of two petrol engines, one of which incorporates hybrid technology. Toyota has been prioritizing hybrid powertrains across its recent models, and the Vellfire will join other hybrid-powered vehicles in India, such as the Urban Cruiser HyRyder and the Innova Hycross. The anticipated 2024 Toyota Vellfire is expected to offer a 2.5-liter petrol hybrid drivetrain with an estimated maximum power of around 250bhp, along with a 2.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine projected to generate approximately 260bhp of peak power. These engines will be paired with either an Electric continuously variable gearbox unit or a Direct Shift 8-speed automatic gearbox. Additionally, buyers will have the choice between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations for the new Vellfire.

In terms of advanced technology, the 2024 Toyota Vellfire raises the bar by introducing an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), making it the first MPV in India to offer this feature. The updated Vellfire will incorporate Toyota’s Safety Sense system, which includes features such as remote parking, radar cruise control, lane tracing assistance, and proactive driving assistance for lane changes, ensuring a safer and more convenient driving experience.

The new 2024 Toyota Vellfire MPV is anticipated to come to India early next year, albeit the manufacturer has not confirmed it. The price will likely be close to Rs 1 crore

The exterior design of the fourth-generation Vellfire showcases a sleek and modern appearance, built on the TNGA-K platform shared with the recently launched Lexus LM. While retaining the Vellfire’s iconic boxy shape, Toyota has implemented notable enhancements. The sidewalls feature a seamless glasshouse that extends from the front to the back, while the headlamps are divided with LED daytime running lights (DRLs) positioned in the lower half. A prominent six-slat grille with the Toyota emblem at the center and a visually striking chrome strip in a U-shaped design beneath the headlight add to the overall appeal. The rear end is adorned with a prominent spoiler and V-shaped LED taillamps, exuding elegance.
