Toyota has expanded the Rumion MPV lineup with a new mid-spec automatic model. The Rumion G was before only available with a 5-speed manual transmission, but customers can now choose a 6-speed automatic transmission as well. The Rumion G AT is priced at Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom), making it 1.40 lakh more expensive than the manual model. Bookings have begun for an amount of Rs 11,000.

The G AT has the same features as the manual counterpart; however, when compared to the base S trim, the G trim includes two-tone alloy wheels, dual-tone seat fabrics, keyless entry and go, automatic climate control, a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, front fog lights and Toyota’s in-car connectivity suite. But features like cruise control, side airbags, a rear camera, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel are missing from the G model.

The Toyota Rumion is powered by Maruti’s 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 103hp and 137Nm. It is coupled to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. In CNG-spec, the engine generates 88hp and 121.5Nm and is only offered with a manual transmission.

The Rumion MPV competes with vehicles such as the Maruti Ertiga, XL6, and Kia Carens and costs between Rs 10.44 lakh to Rs 13.73 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
