In response to the surging demand for its SUVs and MPVs, Toyota, the renowned Japanese automaker, recently achieved its highest-ever monthly sales in India. However, the increasing demand has led to a significant challenge in meeting customer needs, resulting in extended waiting periods for Toyota cars. Currently, customers in India may face a waiting period of over 12 months to get their hands on a Toyota vehicle.
To address this issue and reduce the waiting period, Toyota has taken decisive action. The automaker announced its plans to boost production output at its manufacturing facility in Bidadi, located near Bengaluru. By increasing the production capacity, Toyota aims to cater to the growing demand and provide customers with a more efficient and expedited car buying experience.
One of the key steps in this strategy involves implementing a third shift at the Bidadi facility. This additional shift will enable Toyota to operate round the clock, significantly increasing the output of vehicles. The automaker estimates that this expansion will lead to a production increase of up to 30 percent.
By ramping up production, Toyota intends to alleviate the frustrations of customers facing long waiting periods. The company recognizes the importance of timely delivery and aims to enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring a smoother and more accessible car purchasing process.
