Tata Motors recently released another significant upgrade for its top-selling electric car (EV), the Nexon EV, which has a larger 45 kWh battery pack. The Nexon EV 45 kWh boasts a greater real-world range of up to 370 kilometres due to a larger battery pack. The entry-level Creative model of the Nexon EV 45 kWh portfolio costs Rs 13.99 lakh, while the Fearless, Empowered, and Fully Loaded Empowered Plus variants cost Rs 14.99 lakh, Rs 15.99 lakh and Rs 16.99 lakh, respectively (all pricing, ex-showroom).

Tata Motors uses the same LFP prismatic cells for the Nexon EV 45 kWh as the Curvv EV, which was recently unveiled. The company claims to have improved reliability via complexity reduction, with a 62% reduction in the number of cell modules. Furthermore, the usage of prismatic cells resulted in a 15% increase in volumetric density and an 8% increase in energy density. Additionally, the Nexon EV 45 kWh, similar to the Curvv EV, has a higher 1.2C charge rate, which means that when plugged into a 60 kW DC fast charger, the 10 to 80 percent fast-charging period is just 40 minutes.

Tata states that the real-world range of the Nexon EV 45 kWh will be between 350 and 370 kilometres, despite the fact that it can cover up to 489 kilometres on the modified ARAI test cycle.
