
One of India’s top automakers Tata Motors Ltd has proposed a wholly owned subsidiary. Which has been named ‘TML Smart City Mobility Solutions Ltd’ for undertaking urban mass mobility business under an own, operate and maintain model.
Also with the launch of TML Smart City Mobility Solutions, the company wants to bring specific focus to its electric vehicles production. As well as delivery segment as a service offerings across its portfolio of commercial vehicles.
This will boost company growth and its sales growth as it is independent of any government policy.
In addition to existing state transport units (STUs) and government fleets. Moreover, TSCMSL will also serve all business opportunities across passenger mobility applications.
This development will help commercial, private, and passenger transport services. Thus, the company said in a statement.
They already have 650 EV buses running on roads across various cities in India with a cumulative transport of 35 million km. And has current operationalized 250+ EV buses in FY22.
This launch of TML Smart City Mobility Solutions will see the company bring specific focus to its electric vehicles segment. As a service offering across its portfolio of passenger vehicles.
The key details of the subsidiary amount is yet to be disclosed.
This is the first time any private automaker company has taken such steps to boost EV offerings.
