Tata Motors’ leaked design patent has shown terrain modes that might appear on its forthcoming SUVs. The patent pic shows a rotary knob with seven various terrain modes, including snow, road, gravel, mud and other modes. Tata Motors is anticipated to introduce all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive to its electric SUVs starting with the Harrier EV.
At this point, the brand only offers electric cars with front-wheel drive. Since the Hexa and the previous generation Safari were discontinued, the brand does not even provide a 4×4 or an ICE-powered rear-wheel drive car in its lineup.
In any case, the current Safari and Harrier have three traction modes: wet, rough, and normal, while the Punch has Traction Pro. Then there are the several driving modes that Tata provides for its cars. Three driving modes are available: Eco, City and Sport.
Tata Motors has not yet released any details about the SUV’s powertrain. However, the Harrier EV is expected to have a range of about 600 kilometres on a single charge, considering that the Tata Curvv EV has a battery pack with a claimed driving range of 585 kilometres.
