The brand-new Kylaq subcompact SUV will make its debut in India on November 6, 2024, according to Skoda India. In February of this year, Skoda first announced its intention to enter the subcompact SUV market.
The Kylaq will be underpinned on Skoda-VW’s MQB A0 IN platform, but this time the Czech automaker will be going it alone. Volkswagen has stated that it has no plans to enter the subcompact SUV sector.
Based on the teasers, the Kylaq will have a taut surface and clean lines, similar to Skoda’s family design. The SUV’s signature Skoda grille will be flanked by high-set DRLs in a split headlamp setup up front. A sculpted bonnet, wide wheel arches and L-shaped tail lights at the back with Skoda scrawled on the tailgate are among the other features seen in the teasers.
In terms of engines, the Kylaq is anticipated to come only with the renowned 1.0 TSI turbo-petrol engine used in all Skoda-VW compact cars that are presently available for sale in the nation. Gearbox choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
