The Skoda Slavia midsize sedan, which has helped the Czech carmaker under the Volkswagen Group increase total sales in the Indian passenger vehicle market, is set for a mid-life upgrade. The new Skoda Slavia sedan is slated to appear in India in September of next year.
The Skoda Slavia, a car designed specifically for India and was unveiled in February 2022, will be almost 3.5 years old when it receives an upgrade. One of the main offerings of the carmaker’s India 2.0 strategy is the sedan, which includes the Virtus, a badge-engineered sibling of Volkswagen AG.
Other products included in the India 2.0 schedule are the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun SUVs, both of which gained positive feedback from the respective car manufacturers. Skoda’s modified version of the Slavia sedan aims to enhance its position in the sector.
It is expected that the forthcoming Skoda Slavia facelift will have several exterior design changes, including the headlights, front grille and front and back bumpers.
The Skoda Slavia is expected to get a few more technologically advanced features as well. Apart from that, the inside of the Skoda Slavia facelift is probably going to get a few minor cosmetic changes.
On the mechanical front, the vehicle is expected to keep the same specs as the existing model. In that case, the car will continue to use a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with manual and DSG automatic transmission options. Furthermore, a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an automatic torque converter transmission and manual gearbox choices will be available.
