The Kylaq, Skoda India’s first compact SUV, will be released soon. It will go on sale early in the next year, positioned below the Kushaq. According to Autocar India report, Skoda Kylaq production is expected to start in October of this year.
Here’s what to expect in Skoda Kylaq
The initial teaser pictures and designs show a familiar Skoda design language, although Skoda claims the Kylaq would be the first vehicle to bring the brand’s ‘Modern Solid’ design language with typical SUV qualities to India. Thus, several design characteristics seen in the newly released Skoda Elroq sketches can also be expected. The Kylaq will have a broad grille with vertical slats and split headlights.
The inside of the Kylaq is anticipated to be quite similar to that of the Kushaq and Skoda will probably add extra features to it than the Kushaq and Slavia presently have. Thus, from the time of introduction, technologies like an ADAS suite and a 360-degree camera may be included.
The Kylaq will be powered by a single 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 115 horsepower and 178 Nm of torque. The transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
